Coca is a legendary monster, a type of dragon, which lived in the sea near Redondela. The monster comes to land every year and the residents confront the animal with their weapons. The Coca Festival besides being a local feast is also one of the most traditional festivities in Galicia. It represents the pagan part on the day of Corpus Christi, and coincides on the same day.Traditional and popular Coca Festival, where a big monster is the protagonist. This mythological animal roams the streets and provokes combats that are symbolised into the swords dance.

Localization: At the place called Murxido, in Morgadáns parish.
The Morgadáns Curro is a great visual spectacle. The men act as true cowboys in the pure Far West style and capture the horses using lassos and take them to the ring called the ""curro"", where their manes are cut and numbers are counted to know whether animals were lost during the winter. The young foal are then marked. There is a lot of activity around the curro such as sale of saddles, handicrafts, stalls selling trinkets, donuts and even makeshift taverns with their marquee where they serve spare ribs, grilled sardines, and octopus a la feira.A ""curro"" is a traditional activity where horses reared wild in the mountains are recovered, the mane is cut, which is called the ""rapa das bestas"" and new born foal are branded annually.

""Curro"" is the place where such activity is carried out and gets its name from there. Other activities are woven around the rapa das bestas, counting and branding of the foals (which takes the entire morning) such as sale of saddles, handicrafts, implements… and simultaneously, there are stalls erected to sell donuts and trinkets. It is more appropriate to talk about Fiestas rather than a Fiesta because besides religious activities, which has an innumerable following , the feast of the Agonising Christ also brings together other cultural and gastronomic events.A program of the big feasts in Porriño organised around the figure of the Agonising Christ, which reaches its climax on the second Sunday in September.

The Corpus Christi carpets are a tradition in some Galician areas such as Ponteareas, Redondela and Gondomar. The ornamental pattern is based on geometric and allegorical drawings.The festivities start with the collection and selection of flowers and petals by the residents during the previous days. Designs are then drawn on the street roads and on the eve of the feast day, volunteers decorate the drawings with petals until a flower carpet is formed on the road.

Localization: Mount Vixiador Forest Park, Candeán.
Since 1986, the residents of Candeán organise the most participated religious processions around Vigo. The Mount Vixiador forest park serves as a framework for a gathering of residents that lasts practically for the whole day, from eleven in the morning until late evening. The performance by the Candeán music band, sampling of typical procession dishes, rural food are part of the activities, and in the evening there are lotteries, popular games and more music.During the course of the procession, there are a range of activities that take place such as playing music, sampling gastronomy, popular games, lotteries, and other activities for all ages.

The feast of Saint Blaise, held on the 3rd of February, is one of the first feasts of the year. It is held in honour of the protector of those persons with throat problems and massive crowds of participants from other rural parishes and the city itself come here for the occasion. The religious feast follows the same ritual as when it was first held in the 17th century.A religious procession that is accompanied by popular activities, where a sizeable part is gastronomy. Food is served in stalls and make shift restaurants (furanchos) that are erected for the occasion, and stew (cocido) and pig's snout (cacheira), are the main dishes.

This is a feast of a great tradition, which each year is organised by one of the six villages that comprise the parish of Budiño. The procession of bouquets and floral banners, is one of the most visible elements during the festivities.Since centuries, the parish of Budiño celebrates a feast in honour of Saint Blaise. It is the first big feast after the feast of the Three Kings.
