The Valadares parish church was consecrated in 1726. As a temple registered under the jurisdiction of the marquisate of Valladares, it bears the coat of arms of this family on its facade, and a representation of St. Andrew crucified on the cross.A Baroque church with a rectangular floor plan, a sole nave and a square apse.

The church of St. Lourenzo is one of the seven parish churches of Fornelos de Montes and the chapel of the Holy Cross also belongs to the same jurisdiction.Baroque style parish church with a Latin cross floor plan, which is slightly raised with respect to its atrium. The ornamental sobriety of the facade contrasts with the belfry tower of a respectable height. It is surrounded by a balustrade and two higher levels with halfway arches.

Localization: At the place called Peroleira, in the parish of Peitieiros 36389 Gondomar.
Although the temple is mostly from the 18th century, its origin dates back to the 12th & the 13th centuries. However there is no testimony from such periods save for its front face with its beautiful Romanesque door. New refurbishments were carried out during the 19th and the 20th centuries.It has a Latin cross-shaped floor plan with two added volumes: one where the sacristy is and the other on which the belfry is located.

The parish church celebrates its big feast on the day of Saint Salvador, when a procession is held with all saints from the church. The feast of St. Blaise is another of its big feasts. The set that comprises the church and its cemetery has an atrium surrounded by olive trees.Baroque style parish church of Soutomaior, a style that was prevailing in the 18th century. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross and has a facade with a projecting door and flanked by columns at two different heights.

The way of the cross starts from the vestibule of this church, namely the Via Crucis de Atios. It has 14 crosses representing the 14 stations on Christ's way of the cross to Calvary.Small rectangular parish church, which has just the one nave. It dates back to the 14th century. The building was refurbished later, more specifically in the 18th century and paid by the neighbours.

Parish church of the municipal capital, built in contemporary times, wherein there was a predominant taste for recovering the more classical styles of religious architecture, and so it can be considered as a temple between the neoclassic and neogothic styles.Neoclassic temple built between 1907 and 1913.

St. Andrew's is the parish church of Cedeira. It is situated in the Cruceiro neighbourhood, where the visitor will also find a very interesting stone cross and a carving of the holy souls in purgatory with a water spring. The Pazo de Torre Cedeira is just a few minutes walk from here.A Baroque style church built in the 18th century, where the influence from the Compostelan architecture is noteworthy.

The origin of this church dates to a female monastery built by approval of King Alfonso VII in 1149.A traditional one nave Romanesque origin building, which was refurbished in later times with the addition of a tower. The main doorway stands out with its archivolts supported on columns.

The present day Saint Benedict church was built on the remains of an original temple which was built during the transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic. The church achieved a greater dimension thanks to the stairway that precedes it, which places it at a slightly higher level with respect to the other nearby buildings and to the square. The stone masonry of the main facade is worth mentioning.Church with just one nave built on the neoclassical canon in vogue during the second half of the 19th century.

The church of St. Fausto of Chapela, is Romanesque in origin and a beautiful building, which was active as a parish church until a short while ago. From its atrium we can get a fabulous view of Vigo Bay. Another church was built a short distance away where liturgical services are held.A little Romanesque church with a floor plan in the shape of a Latin cross, and which was subject to posterior reforms.

The parish church of St. James of Borbén is identified by its belfry tower, which presides its central facade and the ornamental relief on the upper part of the facade as a replacement of the traditional opening that served for entry of light into the inside of the building.A Romanesque parish church with a Latin cross floor plan and made of just the one nave, which corresponds more with the Baroque style.

The church of St. James in Bembrive is a good example of rural Galician Romanesque architecture, and is located in a parish which was quite important during the Middle Ages, since it was the place for Good Living (Bene Vivere); something that becomes apparent from its forestry, agricultural and livestock assets.It is a Romanesque church from the end of the 12th century and presents a one storey floor plan with just the one nave and a semicircular apse, which on the outside is pentagonal in shape. The three doors conserve the Romanesque style, with ogival arches that indicate to the transition period in which it was built.

Localization: Parish church in the urban centre of Redondela.
This was originally a Romanesque style church that was consecrated by Archbishop Gelmírez, in 1114, but there is hardly any element left from this original temple. What the visitor sees today is essentially from the 15th and 16th centuries. The dedication to the Apostle reminds us that Redondela is one of the stops of the ancient Pilgrim's Route to Santiago de Compostela along the Portuguese Route.Renaissance church with a central nave and five chapels in its interior, a result of the superimposition of styles starting with the Romanesque style in the original building. Building works were initiated in the 11th century and finished in the first years of the 12th century.

The church of St. Sadurniño in Amoedo is a simple building with a doorway that lacks ornamentation and with a double belfry.Parish church of St. Sadurniño in Amoedo. It is Romanesque in origin with later alterations.

The parish of Xunqueiras is made up of an architectural unit where the highlight is its church with modest ornamentation and simple forms, elements that are characteristic of rural Galician Romanesque architecture. The austere decoration of the church contrasts with the masonry works of the mausoleums of the parish cemetery.A church with just the one nave and the main facade ornamented with a balustrade from which projects a belfry with two bells.

The church of St. Stephen is the parish church of Beade. It presides a typically rural background with atrium and a stone cross on one of its lateral facades. The front displays a low arch without many ornamental elements. St. Stephen is situated on it, in a niche, where one can see good stone masonry work, not only in its lateral volutes but also in the upper body of the niche. The lines of the central tower are marked from the base of the church, highlighting the door area, the niche and in its upper area, behind a balustrade, one can find a belfry and a clock. The tower ends in a curved nervure. Parallel to this tower but at a lower height, are the pilasters finished in pinnacles, that mark the verticality of the set.A church with just the one nave and a rectangular floor plan. Its elevation shows a notable verticality, marked by the central tower with a belfry and a clock. It is of Baroque style.

The Baroque style of the church is appreciated through the work of the stone masons' ornamentation, like in the case of the pilasters bordering the main facade. The interior is likewise quite rich in workmanship as seen especially in the two pulpits, the central altarpiece and those of the lateral chapels.Galician Baroque style parish church. The facade over the access door has a niche with a polychromatic image of St. Vincent, the patron saint of the parish.

The church has architectural elements which are Romanesque of the time in which it was built, meaning that there was an earlier original church at the site on which the present one was built. Parish church of Santiago de Sanguiñeda. It has two sculptures: Virgin with child and another of the apostle St. James. Both indicate to the Marian devotion and the patronage of the Apostle.

As with most cases of Galician rural Romanesque architecture, there are no churches with a pure style but a fusion of styles with posterior alterations and modifications, many a time due to the need for amplifying the church and at other times because the original works were not finished properly. The Louredo parish lived its most significant alterations during the 18th century but it maintains many elements of its Romanesque origin such as the tympanum. Parish church of Louredo. Building works began probably at the beginning of the 12th century. The Romanesque style origin was later complemented by additions and reforms of later centuries and styles.

This is a parish church which was refurbished many times over the centuries and has left its imprint as Gothic and Baroque styles. The original Romanesque style can only be seen in its front facade.Parish church of St. James at Arcade. St. Mary's church was a collegiate church between 1482 and 1850. It is compact at sight and reminds us of fortress churches, of which the cathedral at Tui is a paradigm. The atrium has a set of stone crosses that were brought from different places of the town to this space in 1841.This is a church with a rectangular floor plan and has three naves and three apses. It was built on a Romanesque model, however a transition to the ogival style can be observed. The main facade has two buttresses that flank the door and provide consistency to the building. The Romanesque windows stand out together with the rosette and the door with three pairs of columns and smooth tympanum.

We are standing in front of the only standing vestige of an ancient temple dedicated to Saint Pantaleón, and is a pre-Romanesque monument that was discovered during the course of some civil engineering works in 1926.The building was declared as a national monument in 1964. What remains standing today is the facade of an ancient Visigothic temple, which presents a horseshoe arch.

The Votive Sea Temple stands out because of its proportions and its design which the architect Palacios also applied to the unfinished convent of the Royal Salesas in Vigo and to the Vera Cruz temple in Carballiño, besides applying the same to the Porriño Town Hall. There is exuberant ornamentation, with a covered mosaic dome and a colourful and spectacular interior.This is temple of huge dimensions that was built on a project of the architect Antonio Palacios between 1932 and 1937. It is a regional style building and the design lies between medieval and eastern tradition.
